En Español. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides tax assistance to anyone, free of charge, with a focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low to moderate income. You don't need to be an AARP member to use the service.
Since 1968, Tax-Aide has helped over 80 million taxpayers receive all the credits and deductions they're entitled to. Our volunteers are IRS-certified every year, so they understand the latest changes and additions to the tax code.
Tax-Aide is the nation's largest free tax assistance and preparation service. Every year, from early February to mid-April, our volunteers take appointments at over 3,600 locations around the country. You can find them in libraries, malls, banks and community centers in all 50 states.

Be Prepared for Your Tax Preparation Appointment
It is important that all taxpayers listed on the tax return with the exception of their dependents, are present and prepared for their tax appointment.
Please review the list of forms and documents to bring with you for your appointment. You may speed up your appointment if you fill out and print the Intake/Interview & Quality Review Sheet (IRS Form 13614-C) before your appointment.
Important Notes:
We prepare Federal tax returns. Florida does not have income tax, so none needs to be filed. Due to IRS restrictions, we are unable to prepare any other state tax returns.
Some of the items that are out of scope include rental property income, farm income, certain income items on Schedule K-1, moving expenses, the Alternative Minimum Tax and loss from a self-employment business.
We recognize that some of our clients suffered losses caused by the recent hurricanes. We will be able to provide limited guidance on how to deal with the tax implications of such losses, but due to IRS restrictions, we are unable to prepare and file tax returns which include claims of casualty losses.
As a matter of policy, we prepare tax returns to be filed electronically. We do not prepare paper tax returns.
Starting September 30, 2025, the IRS will no longer issue paper refund checks or accept paper check payments. All refunds and tax payments must be made electronically, using secure digital methods like direct deposit, prepaid debit cards, digital wallets, IRS Direct Pay, EFTPS, or credit/debit cards. The primary and fastest way for refund in tax year 2025 and beyond will be direct deposit. Refunds typically arrive within 21 days.
