Our services for the 2023 tax season have concluded on April 15, 2024. We thank all clients who were served by our all-volunteer team this past tax season and look forward to serving you again during the 2024 tax season, starting in early February 2025. Please check back at this site for information about the 2024 tax season in January 2025.
Tax-Aide provides free tax preparation service at established sites, including electronic filing of returns, usually during the period from late January to mid-April each year. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides tax assistance to anyone, free of charge, with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 or have low to moderate income. There are no upper or lower income or age limits for Tax-Aide assistance and there is no requirement to be an AARP member.
Each site is staffed by volunteers who are certified by the IRS. They will prepare any federal return that falls within the scope of our volunteer training which includes most items on Form 1040.

Be Prepared for Your Tax Preparation Appointment
It is important that all taxpayers listed on the tax return with the exception of their dependents, are present and prepared for their tax appointment.
Please review the list of forms and documents to bring with you for your appointment. You may speed up your appointment if you fill out and print the Intake/Interview & Quality Review Sheet (IRS Form 13614-C) before your appointment.
Please consult the list of frequently asked questions available on the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program website.
Important Notes:
We prepare Federal tax returns. Florida does not have income tax, so none needs to be filed. Due to IRS restrictions, we are unable to prepare any other state tax returns.
Some of the items that are out of scope include rental property income, farm income, certain income items on Schedule K-1, moving expenses, the Alternative Minimum Tax and loss from a self-employment business.
We recognize that some of our clients suffered losses caused by the recent hurricanes. We will be able to provide limited guidance on how to deal with the tax implications of such losses, but due to IRS restrictions, we are unable to prepare and file tax returns which include claims of casualty losses.
As a matter of policy, we prepare tax returns to be filed electronically. If you wish to file a paper tax return, please see the site Shift Coordinator to discuss the matter before beginning the tax preparation process.
Our COVID-19 policy is the same as our host libraries' COVID-19 policies. For the safety of our clients and volunteers, please do not show up for an appointment if you have COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19 or any other contagious disease.
